UC Davis Small Grains/Alfalfa Field Day The 2012 UC Davis Small Grains and Alfalfa Field Day will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the UC Davis Agronomy Field Headquarters, Hutchison Road, Davis, CA. Registration begins at 8:00am. The Small Grains Field Day runs from 8:15am - noon, followed by a BBQ lunch provided by California Crop Improvement. The Alfalfa & Forage Field Day is from 12:45pm - 3:45 pm that afternoon.

Take Road 113 near Davis to Hutchison Rd. Go West. Turn right at the first traffic circle, left at the second circle. The Field Headquarters is about 1/3 mile down on the left.

CA Wheat Commission Meeting.
The California Wheat Commission has three board meetings per year in the months of April, August, and December or January. These meetings are usually held at the California Farm Bureau Building in Sacramento, California and are open to the public. Agendas are posted on the News and Announcement section ten days prior to the meeting.
The next California Wheat Commission meeting is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, August 29, 2012 and is hoped to be held at the USDA Agricultural Resource Service (ARS) lab in Albany, California.

California Wheat Collaborator Meeting
This annual invitational event brings together the key players in the California wheat industry to evaluate and discuss yield and quality characteristics of new wheat varieties. Breeders, farmers, handlers, millers and end users come together for one day to look at the new varieties under development by both public and private breeding programs. Samples of the durum and common wheat varieties are sent out in advance to be milled, baked into bread or made into pasta.
The 2012 Collaborator Meeting will held on Thursday, October 11 at the Beuhler Alumni Center, Davis, California.
